The Freyung in Vienna, View from Northwest

The triangular Freyung square is dominated by the Schottenkirche’s early Baroque façade. To the left is the adjoining old Schottenhof, which is now replaced by a classical building from the early 19th century. To the right the boundaries of the square are set by Palais Harrach and its garden pavilion which no longer exists. The square is completed in part by older, lower houses in the background which date from the 16th century, as well as higher buildings from the 18th century, most of which have since been pulled down.
