Yemen
Art and Archaeology in the Land of the Queen of Sheba
This exhibition on the old southern Arabic cultures in the Yemen is the first extensive attempt to document the development of the southern Arabic area from its Neolithic beginnings to the Islamic period with the help of impressive archaeological finds and incorporating the newest archaeological discoveries. Almost 600 exhibits will present to the visitor a fascinating panorama of the culture of an area which only appears to be divided from us by geography and time. This is the culture of one of the oldest countries in which Islam was decisively formed and which is still an important factor in the Arab world today.
