Exhibtion posters: Directors‘ Choice

The year 2016 marks the 125th anniversary of the Kunsthistorisches Museum’s existence at the Ringstraße in Vienna. In honour of this occasion we exhibit a representative selection of posters from the time between 1891 and 2016, reaching from the opening’s poster from 17th October 1891 up until today’s poster for the current exhibition »Celebration!«. The selected pieces will not only show the different topics and issues which were displayed during the museum’s long exhibition history, but also the change of corporate designs. The selection of posters was compiled by past First-Director Hermann Fillitz (1982-1990), ex-Director-General Wilfried Seipel (1990-2008) and current Director-General Sabine Haag (since 2009).
