Between 1902 and 1904 his colours achieved a new brilliance: he skillfully
employed the methods of Impressionism, and even of Divisionism.
Here, the hot rays of the sun vibrate and touch even the smallest detail.
His use of dots of colour and hatching are somewhat reminiscent of Pointillism,
but the dense bright-red mass of washing left to dry dominates the picture
already from afar.
