Wagner was a precursor of modernity by giving form to rationality; Lechner
used the national style to tackle new tasks. Lechner included ceramic
elements for symbolic purposes, Wagner to express functionalism and modernity.

Wagner's oeuvre, while Lechner preferred the creation of forms and symbolic
content.
