Our art educators will guide you through the museum: gain new insights into the history of art and culture in short tours or special tours or visit the current special exhibitions as part of a highlight tour.

I have been on many guided tours in different museums, but I have never experienced such an enthusiastic and excellent guide.

I was on a guided tour with a friend and wanted to say thank you, especially once again to the facilitator! It was super AND sustainable! Organisations run by and with enthusiastic people are simply great. And I was right to buy an annual pass!

We were shown detailed photographs of the exhibited works, photos of other paintings and archive images, and numerous details in the depictions were pointed out to us, some of which I would hardly have noticed, if at all.

We have never had a better tour than the one yesterday. The time just flew by and we were left in euphoria.

We look forward to sharing a lunch break with you, where we can take a short break from everyday life and travel into the realm of art. Every month, our lunchtime tours have a common theme.

Special tours

The special tour is the classic among the guided tours. It focuses on individual artists, follows a pictorial tradition or familiarises you with a particular type of object.

We offer an overview tour for certain special exhibitions.

Family tours

On our family tours with changing themes, children discover the exhibitions with accompanying adults.

Every Saturday
(except July and August)
3 p.m.: children from 5 to 8 years
4 p.m.: children from 9 to 12 years

Do I have to register for a public tour?

Registration takes place by purchasing a ticket. Tickets for the public tours can be purchased in the online shop. Remaining tickets are available at the information desk in the entrance hall.

In which languages are the public guided tours offered?

Most of our guided tours are in German.

Every Sunday at 3 p.m. there is a highlight tour through the special exhibition or a special tour in English.

Private guided tours can also be booked in other languages on request.

Where do you meet for the public guided tour?

The meeting point is the audio guide stand in the entrance hall of the museum after ticket control.
