Portrait of a Beardless Man

1521, Artist: Hans Maler

Portrait of a Beardless Man

Hans Maler came from Ulm and likely received his training in the workshop of Bartholomäus Zeitblom. He worked as a portrait painter at the Innsbruck court and also for wealthy Tyrolean merchant families and the Fugger dynasty. His style is similar to that of Bernhard Strigel (cf. Inv. No. GG 832).
