Ob Cranach nun mit der Judith (Inv.-Nr. GG 858) eine biblische Figur in das höfische Milieu seiner eigenen Zeit übertrug oderdieses Porträt der drei Töchter Herzog Heinrichs des Frommenfertigte: Die beiden Bilder stimmen stilistisch weitgehendüberein. Unabhängig vom Sujet sind sie charakteristische Beispielefür Cranachs unverwechselbaren persönlichen Stil, derdurch flächengebundene Kompositionen und spezifische Farbigkeitauf dekorative Wirkung zielt.
