1639, Artist: Dirck Dircksz (van) Santvoort
Anchored completely in Netherlandish tradition,Santvoort’s old-fashioned approach to portraiture concentrates on the exact, detailed portrayal of his subjects’ faces and places little emphasis on other external features. According to the family tradition of the previous owners, the subjects are the mayor of Prague Casanova del Monte Turris and his wife, Anna Heinz von Jaden (GG_9127).
