Your visit to the Kunsthistorisches Museum

Please register your group's visit without a guided tour at least 5 working days before the desired date.

If you book a group visit, the admission tickets for your visit will be reserved and you will receive a booking confirmation.

Group sizes are limited to a maximum of 25 people in all our collections and exhibitions.

Groups of 10 people or more must be registered.

Depending on how busy the museum is, larger groups may be divided up for admission and enter the collections or special exhibitions at different times.

Reservations and cancellations of group visits are free of charge. Group size can be adjusted when purchasing tickets.

Current admission prices

Thanks to the Kunsthistorisches Museum's own group ticket office and Skip the Line in the Imperial Treasury, groups can enter the museum quickly and easily.

During your visit, you can leave your outerwear, umbrellas, rucksacks, etc. at the cloakroom free of charge. Lockers are also available for you to store your belongings.

For security reasons, jackets and bags may not be taken into the collections.

Visiting rules

Please observe the following when visiting with children:

  • Persons under supervision may not be left unattended in the exhibitions or special exhibitions.
  • Sitting on steps and window sills, staying in narrow places such as entrance areas or passageways, making noise and running in the exhibition rooms is prohibited.
  • Food and drink may not be taken into the exhibitions.
  • Other visitors must not be disturbed or hindered.
  • Exhibition objects may not be touched. Please also do not sit on them, use them as a shelf or lean on them.
