Jacopo Strada
Jacopo Strada (1515-1588) war Architekt, Goldschmied, ein gesuchter Kunstsachverständiger und vor allem ein international tätiger Antikenhändler. Die schwere goldene Kette zeichnet ihn als Mitglied des Hofes aus, das Schwert und der von der rechten Schulter gerutschte Pelz zeugen von solidem Wohlstand.In Tizians Porträtwerk einzigartig ist Stradas Haltung: die gegenläufige Bewegung von Armen und Kopf verleiht ihm Dynamik und distanziert den Betrachter. Ob Tizian hier auf subtile Weise Stradas bisweilen aggressive Geschäftstüchtigkeit kritisieren wollte, sei dahingestellt.
