Our After Work Special 

Once a month, we invite you to experience the Kunsthistorisches Museum at night in a very special atmosphere.

What to expect

Cocktails, art and music

At Kunstschatzi, our Cupola Hall is transformed into a spectacular cocktail bar with disco balls and a legendary DJ line-up from RADIO RUDINA. 

Each event has a special theme, whether it's a dating special, a Halloween costume party or the celebration of female protagonists of art history for Women's History Month. 

New surprises await you every month, such as drag shows, costume competitions or live concerts.

Consent to Photo and Video Usage
By attending, you give your consent to the use of photos and films of the event, on which you may be shown, for the purpose of documentation and promotion. For this purpose, these may be published on the website and our social media, among other places.
 

Entry: from 7 p.m.


From 7.30 p.m. to 10 p.m., various 30-minute guided tours start every half and full hour.

Meanwhile, a cocktail bar awaits you in the Kuppelhalle, where the bartenders conjure up a wide variety of cocktails, while the DJs from RADIO RUDINA get the dance floor shaking with their legendary line-ups and rousing sounds. Please note that only card payments are accepted at the bars.

From February 2025, the Kunsthistorisches Museum will be dedicating an exhibition to the now largely forgotten artist Daniel Neuberger (1621-1680) and his impressive art of deception. This will be the first time ever he is honoured with a retrospective exhibition.

As part of the special presentation Vitrine EXTRA, various antique objects are presented temporarily in the permanent exhibition of the Collection of Greek and Roman Antiquities of the Kunsthistorisches Museum at regular intervals.

The Egyptian and Near Eastern Collection comprises over 17,000 objects spanning nearly 4,500 years and originating from regions such as Egypt, Nubia, Mesopotamia, and the Arabian Peninsula, making it one of the world's most significant collections of Egyptian antiquities.

The Collection of Greek and Roman Antiquities showcases around 2,500 unique objects spanning 3,000 years, including treasure hoards, exquisite cameos, mosaics, and marble masterpieces that bring to life the history of ancient Greece, the Roman Empire, and their neighboring cultures.

The Kunstkammer showcases approximately 2,200 fascinating objects, technical masterpieces, and rare materials such as ivory, ostrich eggs, and corals from the late Middle Ages to the Baroque period.

In spring 2025, the Kunsthistorisches Museum presents an extraordinary exhibition featuring master-pieces by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Giuseppe Arcimboldo, Jacopo and Leandro Bassano, as well as other outstanding artists of the 16th century.
